What You’ll Do:

As a DCFS Qualified Teacher, you will play an essential role in our classrooms, helping to create a positive, nurturing environment for the children in our care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Working closely with the Director to maintain required paperwork, documentation, and reports.
  • Managing classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and guidance.
  • Building strong relationships with families to better understand and meet the needs of each child.
  • Ensuring the classroom is clean, safe, and organized while following DCFS licensing guidelines.
  • Assisting with program improvement and on-going projects.
  • Supervising children both indoors and outdoors to ensure their safety and well-being.

What We’re Looking For:

To qualify, you must meet the following DCFS standards:

  • 60 college credit hours with at least 6 hours in Early Childhood Education, OR
  • 30 college credit hours with 6 hours in Early Childhood Education and 1 year of child care experience.

Additionally, you must complete 15 hours of in-service/professional development training annually (including state-required CPR/First Aid certification, which can be completed after hire).

Skills and Qualities We Value:

  • The ability to be flexible, punctual, and reliable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact tactfully with staff, parents, and children.
  • Experience in early childhood education is a plus, but we welcome passionate individuals ready to learn and grow with us!

Physical Requirements:
You should be comfortable moving about, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working both indoors and outdoors. Our classrooms and meeting spaces are welcoming and well-maintained, but flexibility is needed to meet the diverse needs of our children.
