What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller Pediatrics-Proficient in Medicaid/Medicare position at Wee Care Pediatrics?
We are a fast paced and family friendly and patient focused pediatric practice looking for an experienced and family-centric medical biller.
Must be highly proficient in pediatric test codes and billing via electronic medical record system, Reviewing physicians’ notes and charts for accuracy & assigning appropriate medical codes to all diagnoses or services, and preparing and submitting clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper.
- Follow up with insurance companies on submitted claims for status of payment via phone call, email, or the use of websites.
- Appeal denied claims with the necessary documentation.
- Actively work accounts receivable to maintain acceptable days in A/R.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding PHI as well as follow HIPAA regulations.
- Identify issues with HCFAs and/or electronic claims.
- Communicate issues with the team and supervisor.
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Contact insurance companies to effectively discuss denials and reprocessing of claims.
- Familiar with specific payer remarks codes to make informed decisions as to most effectively get claims corrected and paid
Qualifications: MinimumQualifications / Experience: 2 years experience working in the medical billing field experience pediatrics is a plus
- 1 year experience obtaining prior authorizations
- Knowledge of EOBs
- Attention to detail is a must
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently Education / Certifications:
- Requires a high school education or equivalent
- Medicaid and Medicare proficient
