What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afternoon Assistant Teacher position at Wee Rockets Child Development Center?
We are looking to hire an attentive and patient part time assistant teacher. Job duties include:
· Observe and monitor children’s play activities
· Provide care for children including following a schedule, changing diapers, assisting with personal habits such as eating, resting and bathroom use
· Provide and participate in age appropriate learning, socialization and play opportunities
· Maintain a safe play/work environment
· Provide a positive learning environment for children using positive guidance
· Provide feedback to parents about their child’s day-keeping it positive as much as possible
· Maintain a well-kept and clean and sanitary classroom
· Assist with housekeeping duties as scheduled
The scheduled hours will be 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday with the opportunity for extra hours through subbing for full time teachers during the hours of 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. Experience in early childhood is preferred but not required. College credit hours in early childhood will increase starting wage.'
