What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Design Assistant position at Weekender House?
We are seeking a motivated full-time Design Assistant for our retail showroom located in Portsmouth, NH. It is a great opportunity for a person that has a passion for design, enjoys working with others and making spaces beautiful!
Qualifications:
· Experience in customer service and retail
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (face to face, over the phone and through email)
· Self-driven
· Detail-oriented
· Organized
· Ability to work in both administrative and creative capacities
· Flexible with changing needs and delegated tasks
· Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
· Interest in design and excitement to work in a creative environment
· Willingness to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and occasional evening hours for special events
Responsibilities:
· Design library upkeep (putting away swatches, samples, catalogues, etc.)
· Greet and assist customers on the showroom floor
· Field design leads
· Accompany designers on in-home consultations
· Measure spaces and draw rough sketch floor plans
· Assist with visual merchandising, showroom display and floor moves
· Open and unpack merchandise
· Assist with preparation of client presentations (sourcing, pricing, space planning, etc.)
· Occasional errands and housekeeping
Hours:
5 days a week, Tuesday-Saturday 9:30-5:00
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
