About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Engineering Support Specialist I. You will provide comprehensive support to engineering teams, including drafting, data management and support (i.e., BOMs and part databases), material creation, claims processing, technical documentation, and product updates/revisions. Assists with project planning, scheduling, and tracking, while facilitating interdepartmental communication. You will also support quality control and the quality system by ensuring documentation and procedures are updated according to ISO and QMS requirements, including training records. Promotes safety initiatives and process improvement efforts. Performs other engineering-related tasks as requested by supervisors and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist Engineering group with activities such as create schematics, bills of materials, detail drawings, and engineering changes. Prepare preliminary drawings as instructed and suggest process improvements (create solutions).
- Assists with project planning, scheduling, and tracking, while facilitating interdepartmental communication.
- Supports quality control and the quality system by ensuring documentation and procedures are updated according to ISO and QMS requirements, including training records, quality reports, and action plan. Development and revision of standards. Coordinate workplace training.
- Promotes safety initiatives and process improvement efforts.
- Performs other engineering-related tasks as requested by supervisors and management.
- Ensure product design meets requirements, quality expectations and timelines (think customer).
- Release panels and prints to operations. Release critical materials for purchasing.
- Generate revisions or additions to existing drawing sets.
- Process markups affecting multiple drawings.
- Create, modify and manage labels related to panels.
- Assist with creation of point-to-point wire lists.
- Ensure consistency across drawing sets (encourage feedback).
- Responsible for creation of third part materials and support documents. Assist to maintain database and materials standardization.
- Update department metrics.
- Maintain revision control.
- Create part allocation claims
- Support standardization of critical databases, such as: SAP BOM, inputting and formatting of data into databases, including EPLAN, third party components standardization file/database.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Technical, vocational training, or associate`s degree preferred or direct related work experience.
Knowledge / training:
- AutoCAD preferred
- MS Office Suite
- Excel basics (using charts, graphs, fonts, borders, shading, formulas, tables etc)
- WEG product knowledge and experience preferred
Experience:
- 1-2 years experience in the manufacturing of industrial control panels.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and documentation related to the manufacture of industrial control panels including material lists, labeling, and wiring diagrams highly desireable
