About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Paint Technician to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role is responsible for all processes related to preparing and painting industrial gearboxes and motors.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Mask, clean, and prepare industrial gearboxes and electric motors for painting.
- Hang product on paint racks or overhead conveyors in a safe and appropriate maner.
- Mix paints and primers following correct procedures for each type, prepare painting guns and equipment.
- Paint product with a professional looking finish.
- Stage painted product in an appropriate method to allow proper drying before packing.
- Some assitance with packing of product for shipping will be required.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge / training:
- Moderate knowledge of industrial liquid paint booth equipment operation.
- Moderate knowledge of paint preparation procedures.
- Basic knowledge of forklift operation (on site certification will be required).
- Basic knowledge of packing and crating of products both corrugated and wooden cartons.
- Moderate knowledge and ability to use manual and power tools.
- Moderate understanding of paint booth safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of and ability to follow company safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures perferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook preferred.
Experience:
- 1 - 2 years in an industrial or automotive painting environment preferred.
