About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity to join our team in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for all product shipping to customers and internal transfers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage freight shipments, processing in timely and accurate manner.
- Understand the logistics process and procedure.
- Team player who is adaptable and organized with problem solving skills and a desire for continuous improvement.
- Monitor age and status of open freight shipments and follow-up on issues as needed.
- File and process paperwork in accordance with the established procedures.
- Schedule trucks through systems such as SAP and TMS.
- Verify and keep accurate records on outgoing shipments.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure timely shipments of all products and accurate tracking in operation system.
- Assist with preparation of shipment including taking pictures, writing Bill of Lading/s (BOL) and other required documentation.
- Assist freight carriers in tracking and shipment information.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School or GED preferred.
Knowledge / training:
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent organization and administrative skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts.
- Detail oriented and the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of warehouse operation systems such as SAP or similar.
- Knowledge of LTL and dedicated services.
Experience:
- 1-3 years shipping experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
