Pay : $22.87 to $25.84 / hour

22.87 - $25.85 / hour base wage
0.75 / hour shift premium
1.25 / hour for WTU / AWS welding certification
0.15 / hour for Union Journeyman credential

Role : Welder

In this role, you will :

Set-up and operate MIG welding machines, adjust machine and wire feed as required.

Normally welding on 16 gauge to 10 gauge mild steel, attaching accessories and fittings or seam welding on parts.

Work from layout marks, simple drawings.

Use scale, square and power tools.

Assemble and tack weld repetitive jobs, finish weld, tack welded assemblies, usually in down and or vertical position.

Operate grinder to clean and shape weld.

Conduct visual and dimensional check of own work.

Support WEG's 5S program in an effort to maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.

Work safely in required PPE to manufacture a high-quality component of a transformer.

Requirements : Basic :

Ability to work within the WEG Code of Ethics & Values. (WEG Code of Ethics, 4th Edition)

Prior welding experience.

Able to work over-time as needed, including limited weekend shifts.

Ability to work evening shift.

Must be able to read, write and comprehend common vocabulary.

Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals and percentages.

Must be able to read, interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts and / or templates.

Ability to successfully pass a Welding Assessment to WEG Transformers USA (WTU) standards.

Resides or intends to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington, Missouri.

Has current work authorization for employment within the United States.

Must complete : Job interview, pre-employment drug screen, background check, and pre-employment skill assessment.

Safety Sensitive Position : Drug screen includes THC.

Preferred :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of Welding Trade school and / or Apprenticeship program.

Two years of prior manufacturing experience.

Salary : $23 - $26
