Job Description
Job Summary:
Transports wheel weights from fabrication to racks based on the production schedule, operates the tumbler for zinc weights, and enters all information into SAP.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remove pans/bins from the casting machines, using proper ergonomics, and places them in correct bins. Visually checks weights being placed in bins/pans to make sure they are not mixed, full of clips, trash or has any defects.
- Tape skid of pans to keep from falling over. Transport skid/bins to scale and performs a scale receipt before taking it to the correct packing area based on the schedule.
- Remove plastic bins from the wheel weight department into the staging area. Visually checks weights to make sure they are not mixed, full of clips, trash or any has any defects.
- Performs a scale receipt on all skids/bins before staging material into correct rack location based on the production schedule.
- Performs a put a way on the RF scan gun. This is putting the material into the SAP system in the correct location.
- Enters all information into SAP using a computer.
- Creates Planned Handling Units based on the schedule in SAP.
- Performs the quality checks and enters the information into WINSPC once per shift (lead area only).
- Operates sit-down & stand-up forklift. Operates a pallet jack.
- Performs safety inspections on the forklift and pallet jacks.
- Maintains 5S to company standards.
- Maintains stocking tickets/handling units on every skid or bin for identification.
- Required to load the lead sows into the lead loader system.
- Material handles (moves) lead and zinc bundles using forklift and carts.
- Tumbles zinc weights using tumbler machine.
- Performs cycle counts, as needed.
- Operate water tumbler system including, but not limited to, tumbling weights, mixing and adding chemicals, changing filter paper and sock filters, and disposing of waste properly.
- Troubleshoots the Tumbler system.
- Train new associates.
- Performs other duties, as requested or required.
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing facility. Moderate noise level, must wear ear plugs and safety glasses with permanent side shields, steel toe shoes, and gloves..
Job Requirements
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Capable of lifting up to eighty (80) pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, push, and pull frequently throughout the defined shift.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain part numbers for identification purposes.
- Ability to operate a sit-down and stand-up forklift.
- Moderate decision-making and problem solving capabilities.
- Capable of working alone.
- Able to effectively verbally communicate with team members.
- Visual acuity to read instructions and operate equipment.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in operation of forklift preferred.
