QC Sorter (1st Shift)

Job Description

Job Summary:

Sorting of finished goods for customer orders and sorting of in-process material as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use pin gages, caliper, counting scale and visual inspection.
• Inform QC and Management of any problems with the quality of parts from the stamping, die casting, coating, and assembly processes.
• Complete inspection paperwork with complete and accurate information for Quality and Inventory Control. Input on paper and using a computer.
• Follow work instructions, OPL’s, Quality Alerts and Visual Aids as posted.
• Operate stand-up forklift and perform daily safety inspection.
• Use scan guns for SAP and Barcom to move inventory and perform cycle counts.
• Interact with Customer Service, Inventory Control, and Shipping to ensure on-time delivery.
• Support and participate in Continuous Improvement and 5S function.
• Maintain 5S standards.
• Train new employees.
• Disposes of waste and recyclables in proper container.
• Meets company’s attendance standards.
• Perform other duties, as requested, or required.

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing facility. Moderate noise level. Some desk and PC work. Must wear ear plugs, steel toe shoes, and safety glasses with permanent side shields.

Job Requirements

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• High level of hand/eye coordination.
• Ability to write neatly and legibly.
• Capable of standing for long periods of time and frequent bending and stooping throughout the defined shift.
• Ability to operate a stand-up forklift and pallet jack.
• Moderate decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to lift up to eighty (80) pounds.
• Basic PC skills.
• Capable of working alone.
• Ability to train others.
• Able to effectively verbally communicate with team members.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.
