POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title : EAM Systems Administrator
Reports to : Enterprise Systems Manager
Purpose : This position will serve as the Systems Administrator for the agency’s Asset Management software and technology including system configuration, staff training / support, process development, user rights administration, and first-level support. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the Asset Management platform(s) is being effectively supported and utilized by end users and that the tool provides meaningful outputs for department heads while supporting the development and maintenance of the MTA and RTA Transit Asset Management Plans. In addition, this position will act as the Deputy Project Manager, supporting the Enterprise Systems Manager for the upcoming procurement and implementation of a future Enterprise Asset Management solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Coordinate the successful implementation and deployment of an Enterprise Asset Management software within the agency, acting as the internal lead and primary point of contact for the duration of the project.
- Work directly with the system vendor to identify and address issues during and after implementation
- Maintain relationships with consultant team, vendors, and internal departments to ensure a collaborative approach in the system’s development and ongoing use.
- Act as level one support of the EAM system, including entering and tracking support tickets with the vendor and escalating issues as necessary.
- Support collaboration across the agency with unique insights to inform timing of upgrades, enhancements, and changes across the systems.
- Maintain asset data across all asset classes and collaborate with subject matter experts in each division to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Lead the prioritization and implementation of improvements to the EAM system, and maintain the training program for end users.
- Interact regularly with stakeholders to maintain a current understanding of the business processes and objectives of the Maintenance division and the Operations, Procurement, and Parts departments.
- Examine the current technologies, interfaces, and capacities of the EAM system to determine where they can be enhanced or modified to help the business run more effectively.
- Act as the primary critical contact point for EAM system issues, fostering communication, information exchange, and understanding between the broader Operational Systems and the Assets and Infrastructure department, and their internal department members.
- Serve as primary subject matter expert (SME) for the EAM system infrastructure, as well as integrations with other feeder systems such as Trapeze OnSite yard management system or an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), (slated for future development).
- Administer the EAM system, onboarding new users and offboarding departing employees.
- Implement new EAM integrations with other agency systems as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues with the above systems, focusing on resolving incidents without violating cybersecurity or regulatory requirements.
- Anticipate potential issues with the EAM system and integrations and address them proactively, identify and recommend possible changes and improvements to improve business performance and user experience.
- Train other members of the Enterprise Systems Department on the EAM system and any integrations so that they can act as backup support and cross-train on other business applications sufficiently to serve as a secondary SME and backup support for those systems.
- Prepare data analysis and reporting for board of directors, department heads, and others upon request.
- Ensure data quality in the EAM system through collaboration and application life-cycle management best practices, according to industry standards.
- Coordinate with the Geographic Information Systems administrator to appropriately manage spatial assets and their characteristics.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years in Application Support capacity OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties. A successful candidate will be self-driven yet inquisitive, able to work independently while supporting other teammates, equally skillful at time management and flexibility, and eager to learn new skills in a growing company. Effective communication and collaboration will be important skills for this candidate.
