The role…
You will provide a full range of shipping support to 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift at our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to: Ensure safe transportation of material/end product to customer’s locations without incurring unnecessary damage and avoiding customer complaints.
Overtime: Required overtime one Saturday every other month. Additional overtime may be required depending volunteer opportunities and cross training opportunities.

The role…
You will provide a full range of shipping support to 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift at our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to: Ensure safe transportation of material/end product to customer’s locations without incurring unnecessary damage and avoiding customer complaints.

How you’ll make an impact…
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems
- Monitor and maintain an inventory of shipping materials through SAP and paperwork
- Supplies machine operators with production materials
- Pack, seal, and label materials for shipping using work devices such as hand tools, and power tools
- Complete quality checks on goods to be shipped to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Load trucks and containers with final shipments
- Communicate with other departments to retrieve raw materials and supplies to eliminate the need for downtime
- Maintain clean work environment and document housekeeping and 5S compliance
- May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
- Note: Other duties may be required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two years of shipping/material experience
- Ability to operate a forklift, clamp truck, stretch wrap machinery, manual and/or electric hand jack, strapping equipment, and core cutter
- Comprehend and apply basic reading, arithmetic, and geometry (testing required)
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
- Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing approximately 80 lbs
- Physical requirements to work in a non-climate controlled environment and have the ability to stand up to 12 hours per day
- Basic keyboarding skills and basic knowledge of computer operations
- Ability to train others and willingness to cross train
- Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
