The role...
You will provide a full range of shipping support to 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift at our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to : Ensure safe transportation of material / end product to customer's locations without incurring unnecessary damage and avoiding customer complaints.
Overtime : Required overtime one Saturday every other month. Additional overtime may be required depending volunteer opportunities and cross training opportunities.
How you'll make an impact...
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems
- Monitor and maintain an inventory of shipping materials through SAP and paperwork
- Supplies machine operators with production materials
- Pack, seal, and label materials for shipping using work devices such as hand tools, and power tools
- Complete quality checks on goods to be shipped to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Load trucks and containers with final shipments
- Communicate with other departments to retrieve raw materials and supplies to eliminate the need for downtime
- Maintain clean work environment and document housekeeping and 5S compliance
- May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
- Note : Other duties may be required
