Job Responsibilities
Estimation Leadership:
- Lead masonry estimating efforts for a variety of construction projects.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Quantity Takeoff and Pricing:
- Obtain quantity takeoff information through field measurements and project documentation.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing for masonry materials and labor.
Design-Build Collaboration:
- Engage in design-build work, partnering with engineering firms on solutions when required.
- Work closely with project teams to provide input on masonry-related design considerations.
Proposal Preparation:
- Generate estimates by combining self-perform activities with subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Create detailed proposals with a comprehensive scope of work for submission to clients.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers to set up projects and order necessary materials.
- Coordinate with field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment rental as needed.
Quality and Safety Compliance:
- Support and implement a safety culture, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Implement measures to promote safety and quality throughout the masonry projects.
Client Relations and Business Development:
- Be a key point of contact with clients during the estimation phase.
- Assess potential job leads and evaluate opportunities for Weigand Construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in masonry estimation within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in leading masonry estimating efforts for various project types.
- Strong knowledge of masonry materials, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
