What are the responsibilities and job description for the Critical Care Faculty Position: Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology position at Weill Cornell Medicine?
The Department of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital is seeking Critical Care Anesthesiologists . Our intensivists provide care on our main campus as well as NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The NYP / WCMC campus has a 20-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, caring for patients undergoing procedures including CABG, valve repair / replacement, ventricular assist devices, cardiac transplantation and ECMO. Our faculty provide medical leadership in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit and are actively involved in our critical care fellowship and all aspects of resident education. The NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital 8-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit serves patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgery at that location. Our intensivists are central members of the Cardiogenic Shock / ECMO teams on both campuses. Clinical rotations are about 10-12 weeks per year including in-house and out-of-house ICU overnight call and weekend coverage, which generates additional income in addition to set annual compensation. All candidates must be ABA BC / BE, eligible for medical licensure in New York State and board eligible / certified in Critical Care Anesthesiology. Additional fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology or Basic or Advanced TEE certification from the National Board of Echocardiography are highly desired, but not required.
