What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Educator position at Weingarten Children's Center?
Weingarten Children’s Center (WCC) has a full-time position immediately available for an Early Childhood Educator with a bachelor's degree. WCC has small classes (6 – 12 students) and favorable adult to child ratios (typically one adult to 3 or 4 students).
WCC also offers a unique and supportive environment for those educators who are interested in working while earning their on-line Master’s in Deaf Education. The passionate, interdisciplinary team at WCC includes an audiologist, occupational therapist, teachers of the deaf, paraprofessionals, speech-language pathologists and a social worker.
Responsibilities include: Assisting teachers with classroom material preparation and clean-up, creating and maintaining thematic environments, maintaining playground and other common space areas and light office work; ECE teachers support supervision of students during recess and/or lunch breaks, help with transportation transitions, students' bathroom needs, attendance and behavior incident record keeping and partner with staff and families to promote student progress and overall well-being.
Required Skills: experience working with young children with language delays and mild-moderate disabilities, a solid understanding of child development, knowledge of strategies for positive behavior management, excellent planning and organizational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, effective written and verbal communication, collaborative and adaptable, energetic and enthusiastic!

Weingarten Children's Center is a non-public school and clinic that specializes in teaching deaf and hard of hearing students how to listen and speak. WCC has classes for infants and their caregivers, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-kindergarteners and kindergarteners.
