Purpose of Role
Responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships, and driving growth for Weir. Primary focus is finding and developing new projects that align with the company's long term goals, objectives and solution portfolio. Secondary is the identification of comminution potential within those identified projects and transitioning to the regional sales team.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Managers to join our global Comminution team, targeting End Users and engineering houses.
These roles require seasoned professionals with a proven track record of success in business development and a deep understanding of the industry. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in the mining and engineering sectors, possessing the strategic acumen and drive to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities. As key players in our growth strategy, you will leverage your industry knowledge and networks to expand our market presence and drive revenue growth across all markets.
Key Responsibilities :
- Safety First : Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Relationship Building : Identify, establish, develop and maintain strategic relationships with potential clients throughout the region. Develop trusted advisor status with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors, accessing senior organisational levels.
- Develop Sales Plans : Develop and implement regional Business Strategy and Plan in alignment with global strategies, business plans and the regional business strategy. Develop lead review and opportunity pursuit and win plans. Actively support, lead or manage the execution of those plans through to receipt of the customer inquiry (EOI, RFP’s, RFQ, IRR etc.), and hand over to the regional team.
- Market Intelligence : Continuously track competitor relationships, marketing activity, customer focus, products and strategic initiatives and activities in your region to develop both regional and global competitor analyses.
- Collaborate Internally : Support Regional teams by utilising your local customer relationships and knowledge to develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support Weir ‘s business success at all levels.
- Reporting : Maintain detailed and accurate CRM (Salesforce) record keeping of all customer interactions and project updates. Communicate internally on project and opportunity level through Salesforce becoming an internal ambassador the accuracy, detail and commitment of the tool. Monthly to the broader comminution team on insights, discoveries and market activity.
