About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Fisheries Department Lead to join our team at Weis. As a key member of our seafood management team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to customers, addressing their inquiries and resolving any concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
- Inventory Management: Effectively manage inventory levels, reviewing orders to meet customer demand and maintaining organized storage and backroom areas.
- Scheduling and Training: Schedule and oversee training for all seafood associates, recognizing and rewarding excellent performance while delegating tasks to maximize department efficiency.
- Merchandising and Displays: Develop localized merchandising plans, creating visually appealing displays for new or seasonal items to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
- Quality Control: Inspect seafood products upon delivery, enforcing quality standards and proper rotation procedures to ensure freshness and accuracy.
- Department Operations: Oversee daily department activities, controlling expenses, labor costs, and losses due to damaged or spoiled product.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business or food service-related field desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years' management experience in retail, restaurant, or supermarket environment.
