Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Meat Manager to join our team. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for promoting excellent customer relations, ensuring fresh quality merchandise, and assisting the Meat Manager in day-to-day functions. You will also coordinate sales and merchandising plans, monitor competitor activity, and oversee department inventories. In addition, you will supervise associates within the department, provide training and recognition, and maintain backroom organization and product storage according to company guidelines.

To perform this job successfully, the Associate must have a High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate or bachelor's degree in business-related or food-service related field desirable. Minimum (2) years' experience in management in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment. Meat management experience preferred. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates.
- Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude.
- Ensures fresh quality merchandise by using proper product handling techniques.
- Assists Meat Manager in day-to-day functions of Meat operations such as merchandising, ad execution, associate engagement, and customer service.
- Coordinate sales and merchandising plans for the department to ensure proper stock levels and freshness.
- Monitors competitor activity concerning merchandising, pricing, quality, and comparison signage.
