Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking a Quantitative Developer to take ownership of the systems that drive the full life cycle of an investment strategy, including data, research, analytics, portfolio monitoring, and trading. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, capable of working with ambiguous requirements and refining use cases in collaboration with investment professionals. This role requires both technical expertise and a deep interest in financial markets, with the ability to balance quick deliverables with scalable, long-term solutions. Candidates should have experience building and maintaining end-to-end systems in fast-paced, small-team environments, with a pragmatic mindset and a keen attention to detail. We are open to candidates based in Boston or New York.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust systems to support the full investment workflow, from research and analytics to live trading.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that evolve with business needs.
- Build and optimize data pipelines, integrating historical and real-time components.
- Develop front-end and back-end applications to visualize a broad range of metrics and datasets.
- Collaborate with investment teams to translate research concepts and user workflows into scalable, resilient production systems.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems in a fast-paced trading environment.
