Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Operations who will oversee planning and directing line management and related manufacturing support activities. This includes manufacturing floor inspection, manufacturing engineering, materials management, and safety/environmental engineering. The successful candidate will establish and implement manufacturing policies, controls, and procedures to efficiently produce high-quality products. They will also contribute to achieving sales objectives and establishing annual budgets for all departments, while managing the profit and loss of the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of manufacturing operations, including planning, scheduling, organizing, and staffing manufacturing and manufacturing support functions.
- Interpreting company sales forecasts and shop orders to establish accurate manufacturing plans that meet customer requirements.
- Coordinating with Engineering, Sales, and new product development engineering to maintain awareness of current and future product plans.
- Developing and managing material control, manufacturing control, production scheduling, and planning systems to achieve output schedules that meet company sales requirements.
- Maintaining material and parts inventories that ensure the fulfillment of production schedules with minimum inventory expense.
- Planning and developing manufacturing facilities and equipment for efficient production of products.
- Working with tooling/engineering to investigate product quality and manufacturing problems and determine cost-efficient solutions.
- Developing and assisting with the annual budget of all departments and standard costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 8-10 years of precision manufacturing experience, including some experience in molding (10 years in management role).
- Strong leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems.
Estimated Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per year
