We’re looking for a dependable, customer-focused Meat Department Clerk to join our team! In this role, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for customers while supporting daily operations in our meat department. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with meat selections and provide excellent service
- Stock and rotate fresh meat products in coolers and display cases
- Weigh, wrap, price, and label products accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools
- Follow all food safety and handling procedures
- Help prepare specialty meat products as needed (marinated cuts, ground meats, etc.)
- Monitor product freshness and remove outdated or damaged items
- Work as part of a team to keep the department organized and efficient
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a meat department, deli, or grocery environment is a plus (but not required – we’re willing to train the right person!)
- Comfortable working with raw meat and operating cutting/wrapping equipment (training provided)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in refrigerated environments
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends or evenings as needed
