JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Agent to join our team and support our dynamic fashion and apparel manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the complete purchase order process, from creation to completion, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining strong vendor relationships. You’ll play a critical part in monitoring stock levels, updating key reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to expedite shipments and resolve any discrepancies.
As a Purchasing Agent, you will also assist the Purchasing Manager in executing purchasing strategies that balance stock availability with business demands. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the entire purchase order process, ensuring accuracy from creation to completion.
- Communicates regularly with vendors to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Monitors and updates the weekly WIP (Work in Progress) report, investigating delays or discrepancies and providing timely feedback.
- Collaborates with the traffic team to prioritize shipments and expedite delayed or urgent orders.
- Updates and distributes the in-stock tracking report, providing clear and actionable comments on stock levels and availability.
- Notifies the customer service team about any orders requiring rescheduling, ensuring smooth communication with clients.
- Assists the Purchasing Manager in maintaining optimal stock levels to meet demand and minimize excess inventory.
- Tracks and resolves purchase order discrepancies, including pricing, quantity, and delivery variances.
- Maintains up-to-date records of vendor contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies.
- Supports the planning department in executing key purchasing and inventory strategies for business needs.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
Experience Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, ideally within the
fashion, apparel, or textile industry is required.
Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with managing vendor relationships and negotiating terms. (Low proficiency)
- Experience with purchase order management and inventory control processes. (Medium proficiency)
- Knowledge of fashion/apparel manufacturing processes, textiles, and raw material sourcing. (Low proficiency)
