Job Brief: We are looking for an experienced Crane Operator to safely handle and transport materials within our recycling facility using lifting equipment such as cranes and hoists. The successful candidate will play a vital role in facilitating the efficient processing of recyclable metals while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. They will work closely with our team to ensure the smooth operation of our facility and the timely delivery of materials to designated areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Cranes and Hoists: Proficiently operate cranes and hoists to transport materials within the recycling facility, ensuring safe and efficient handling at all times.
  • Material Handling: Safely load and unload materials from trucks and containers using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment, following proper procedures and protocols.
  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of cranes and hoists, identifying any issues or defects and addressing them promptly to maintain operational integrity.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks on cranes and hoists, including lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and material handling operations, documenting all relevant information for record-keeping purposes.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations, to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a crane operator, preferably in a recycling or manufacturing environment, with a demonstrated ability to operate various types of cranes safely and efficiently.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of crane operation principles and equipment maintenance procedures, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform basic repairs as needed.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads, work in confined spaces, and perform repetitive tasks, demonstrating physical strength, endurance, and agility.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and situational awareness, enabling precise execution of tasks and safe handling of materials in dynamic work environments.
  • Certifications: Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and relevant certifications such as NCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) are preferred.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
