Who You Are
We're looking for an Excavator Operator to join our team! The Excavator Operator serves as a representative of Welborn in creating a continuous working relationship with clients / customers. This is a full-time role assisting with projects and sites. Responsibilities include performing routine equipment checks and maintenance, loading and unloading equipment, and ensuring sites are kept clean and equipment is safely turned off and stored. To be successful in this role, you should consistently follow health and safety regulations and be able to work in a team environment. Outstanding equipment operators should display great hand and foot coordination and always be thinking of ways to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment in a safe and productive manner
- May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
- Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated
- Assures unit is never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is inconsistent with Standard Operating Procedures
- Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required
- Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
- Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
- Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations
- Clean, lubricate, and perform regular safety checks on equipment
- Ensure equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off, or loading and unloading it
- Ensure sites are kept clean and safe
- Identify faults and troubleshooting equipment as required
- Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure it's in good working order
- Drive or control heavy equipment to complete tasks at the site
- Monitor performance and adjust settings as required to perform tasks correctly
- Complete minor repair work as needed
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
- Operates various equipment for general site preparation
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
