The State Group is seeking a Payroll Coordinator based at our Welch and Rushe Division in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This opportunity will provide immediate career learning and growth. Welch and Rushe has been in operation for over 50 years as a full-service mechanical company specializing in comprehensive HVAC and plumbing construction services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Enter data into the payroll system from time sheets and other time-keeping records.
- Create and maintain employee profiles within the payroll system.
- Create and review basic Excel worksheets and workbooks.
- Run routine queries and reports as required.
- Audit and investigate payroll discrepancies using payroll systems, documents, and reports.
- Electronically file employee and payroll documents in compliance with the Electronic Records, Records Retention, and Confidential Employee Records policies.
- Act as HR Liaison with Corporate Office (TSG).
- Conduct new hire orientation in collaboration with Safety.
- Prepare State and Federal tax filings (multi-state).
- Preparing W-2s and Annual Tax Reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit certified payroll via eMars and LCP Tracker.
- Generate union reports and handle monthly filing.
- Wage Rate Determination and review.
- Handle badging and access to secure job sites.
- Complete various projects throughout the year.
- Additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM
- 2 - 4 years of payroll experience, preferably including union payroll.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, spreadsheet management, and experience with related software and databases.
- Construction or manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage priorities, strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to professionally manage a fast-paced environment.
