Diesel Truck Mechanic

JOB TITLE:  Diesel Truck Mechanic

LOCATION:  2323 Graham Street, Bartlett IL 60103

SHIFT:  Mon-Fri (8AM – 7PM), Sat (9AM – 3PM)

POSITION SUMMARY:

·         Assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of truck fleet.  You will be tasked with making mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on equipment. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Perform preventative maintenance / machine inspections

·         Repair truck engines

·         Troubleshoot issues

·         Determine parts & tools necessary for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs

·         Complete service paperwork

·         Maintain a clean and safe work area

REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS / OTHER:

·         Advanced Knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine

·         In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms

·         Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment

·         Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools

·         Excellent problem-solving skills

·         Keen attention to detail

·         Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics

·         Proficiency in the use of diesel engine and diagnostic software

·         Valid Driver’s License / Class A License (Preferred)

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         Effective collaboration and communication skills

·         High school diploma or GED

·         3 years experience preferred with heavy truck or diesel equipment repair

·         Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
