What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clamp Truck Operator position at Welch Packaging Group Inc.?
SUMMARY
Operate clamp truck equipment to company standards. Receive roll stock and other raw materials by company procedures. Unload and load trucks and rail cars as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Maintain a clean machine and Work Area.
• Adhere to the wet end run schedule.
• Have correct paper staged at the corrugator in a timely manner according to Wet End Schedule.
• If rolls are damaged, assist Operators in peeling and prepping rolls.
• Work with Control Room Operator and Wet End Operators to ensure butt rolls are kept to a minimum and adhere to Butt Roll Policy.
• Assist Wet End during double wall when duties allow.
• Perform pre-shift OSHA required checks and blow down radiator, engine compartment and undercarriage.
• Clean and reorganize warehouse as needed to ensure a clean and safe work area and the proper rotation of stock.
• Assist machine operator in peel down and prep of the roll when needed.
• Ensure butt rolls are properly prepped for return to the roll room.
• Reinserting core plugs.
• Placing proper labels on rolls.
• Anytime the run schedule allows the Clamp Operator should assist the Wet End in providing breaks.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
• Prior clamp truck operation preferred.
• 4 years of prior forklift or similar experience required.
• Previous preventative maintenance on machines/equipment preferred
