- Work safely at all times, following all accepted company safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean Work Area.
- Be able to read the dry end run schedule
- Be able to perform all job tasks of a Checker Loader
- Be able to organize delivery schedules based on production data gathered from the manufacturing software.
- Schedule delivery drivers to facilitate cost effective, efficient on time deliveries to our customers.
- The ability to clearly communicate the shipping plan to others including transportation associates and Scheduling.
- Ability to quickly recognize the inability to service our customer and to notify Scheduling to make alternate plans.
- Ensure that unit count is correct and units are properly tagged and unitized.
- Ensure that orders are shipped in their entirety and any short count is reported to Scheduling as soon as it is realized.
- Ensure that all Checker Loaders have the proper training for the job they are performing.
- Ensure that Trailer inspections and Sweep logs are being filled out and that the work has been completed as per the SOP.
- There may be a time that you will be ask to perform a task for which you have not been fully trained, if that is the case you are still expected to perform the task to the best of your ability. Agents of the company will not ask you to do anything unsafe, immoral or illegal. If you are unsure the proper way to accomplish what is being ask of you, ask for assistance and training.
- Monitor and enforce all company rules and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with Scheduling and the control room to ensure your shipping line up is accurate, timed correctly and any discrepancies are shared and solved.
- Translate your production schedule into your transportation line up. Contact drivers, verify your trailer pool and produce a lineup that will satisfy the demands of our customers.
- Report any discrepancy directly to scheduling for their input.
- Ensure that the shipping line is properly manned for the product that is being produced.
- Check, monitor and enforce all Quality Standards including proper unitization and tagging procedures.
- Work with Control Room Operator on Overrun, Underrun or scrapped sheets/units.
- Monitor and check job performance of all Checker Loaders.
- Before the start of the shift inspect work area for cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure that area is clean and properly organized at shift changeover to ensure the success of the oncoming shift.
- Correct all issues in the rework area in a timely manner with the assistance of the control room operator and ensure that no rework issues carry over into the following shift.
- Work with the control room operator to correct any mistakes and unitize loads to maximize trailer loading.
- Provide performance feedback to checker loaders and arrange for Training as needed.
- When the machine stops because of an issue, the Shipping Lead should make sure that all checker loaders are performing their assigned duties and taking advantage of the time to clear the lines, organize units and be prepared for the machine to start up
- Conveyor lines blown out and cleaned.
- Shipping area swept.
- Forklifts should be wiped down.
- End of week duties should include turning off valve to propane tanks.
- When all areas are clean, garbage cans should be emptied and stored properly.
