Position Summary:
Welch's are looking for a hard-working dynamic Regional Sales Manager - Convenience Channel, Foodservice Division to join our team reporting to the Team Leader of DSD/Convenience Channels. This position leads the sales execution of selling the Welch's Portfolio into both National and Regional Wholesalers and Operators including C-store chains, Independents, and small grocers in the Western half of the US.
You will lead Welch's broker partners and play a pivotable role in developing strategic sales plans to drive profitable growth, gain new distribution, open new C-store accounts, and foster both customer and broker relationships.
Where You'll Work
This is a remote position requiring up to 50% travel to customers within the West Territory. Candidates must reside in one of the states within this territory to be considered.
This region covers the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and California
What You'll Do:
- Assist in development and execution of the strategic business plans for the Convenience channel to maximize sales growth and drive profitable growth within brand strategies and trade spend guidelines.
- Lead and collaborate with broker partners to execute Welch's market initiatives, determine customer needs, quantify business opportunities, and propose executional strategies that translate into actionable plans to deliver long term growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers while ensuring constant communication both internally and externally.
- Develop sales presentations for key customers & wholesalers, often in coordination with Broker Sales leads.
- Effectively utilize broker scorecards to achieve volume targets on existing and new business. Regularly update and communicate progress and challenges to Team Leader.
- Represent Welch's at strategic regional trade shows and customer events to grow brand equity and develop customer / broker relationships.
Who You Are:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Convenience Channel
- Successful in managing and developing customer/broker relationships and proven track record of exceeding sales targets and closing significant new business deals
- Partner with internal cross functional teams such as sales planning, marketing, accounting, and customer operations
- Must be a Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented sales manager that has the competitive spirit to exceed KPI's every day
- Strong presentation skills with a solution selling mindset and the ability to solve problems with a results-oriented objective
- Demonstrates strong communication, time management, and organizational skills, making smart decisions that positively impact the business now and in the future
- Operates with a growth mindset, embracing challenges, overcoming obstacles, and consistently seeking opportunities for improvement and development
What You'll Need:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years progressive Foodservice / Convenience channel sales experience, including account management and broker management
- Experience managing, motivating and working closely with Broker network
- Prior success in managing and signing new customers to drive local wholesaler business
- Possess an entrepreneurial attitude and a drive to exceed expectations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and applications. (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to travel 3-4 days per week working with customers and broker partners (to include day trips and overnights as needed). Occasional travel outside the assigned region will be included to support business activities such as trade shows, national sales meetings, training, etc.
