What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Residential Services position at Welcome House, Inc?
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Assistant Director of Residential Services (DRS) will work in direct conjunction with the site leadership and staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of the sites and clients. The ADRS is responsible for leading and managing a comprehensive array of residential services in partnership with the Director of Residential Services. The ADRS will lead a team of Residential Managers, Residential Supervisors and DSPs encompassing multiple locations. The ADRS will also maintain a caseload of sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Social Services related field or commensurate experience in the IDD field with at least three years professional experience and one year of senior leadership experience. Supervisory experience is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Age 21 or older
- Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must have solid computer skills and understanding of MS Word, Excel and e-mail.
- Must have strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate integrity and strong background in leading others.
- Must have a belief in and understanding of agency’s mission and ability to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values to internal and external stakeholders.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid Ohio driver’s license with four points or less, and auto insurance.
- Must have satisfactory health, background check and drug test.
- Maintain Med Cert 1 certification.
- Med Cert 2 and Med Cert 3 certifications as needed based on assigned sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
CLIENT-RELATED
- Oversee the overall functioning of the sites, coordinating care though the Residential Managers, Residential Supervisors and Direct Care staff. Seek guidance from the DRS when necessary.
- Ensure client needs are met, including obtaining and maintaining adaptive equipment, assisted technology, other adaptive modifications to the home and property.
- Attend ISP meetings when possible, providing current client specific information and completing any required documentation. (FRR, Annual Releases and Self Med Assessments)
- Assist in the MUI process when required.
OVERSIGHT
- Supervise, coach and mentor all staff; includes managing personnel issues, ensuring compliance to agency’s personnel policies.
- Participate in conducting OJT for all new staff, cross-training and PRNs.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all clients’ ISPs
- Document and facilitate corrective actions to staff as needed. Turn in corrective actions to HR as soon as completed.
- Assist with ensuring that each site is in compliance with all regulations—including fire drills, severe weather drills, crisis and emergency plans and that sites are stocked with emergency supplies.
- Assist with ensuring all site documentation is complete and timely (UIR forms, billing, MARS, Therap, shift notes, weekly checklists, OJT Logs, ETC.)
- Work in conjunction with Human Resources when needed to help facilitate with the interviewing and hiring process.
- Assist with conducting staff meetings whenever needed.
- Assist with ensuring staff members are in compliance with all mandated training.
- Assist in participating in Licensure and Medicaid Surveys (where applicable).
- Assist in ensuring that schedules for each site meet the needs specified on the CPT.
- Assists in managing any sites that are without leadership.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Assist in the writing and presentation of evaluations as needed.
FINANCIAL
- Assist in ensuring billing is turned in on time weekly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Monitor clients' finances and assist with their audits as needed.
- Assist with reconciling the bank statements of clients that are their own payees.
