Budget Management - 90%
- Prepares cost analyses and researches ways to reduce costs, direct disbursement of funds and deposit of revenues. Prepares statistical reports for a variety of grant programs. Ensures individual contracts are meeting standards.
- Develops and manages the Sheriff’s Office budget in conjunction with the Sheriff, Undersheriff, and with Division Captains; reviews and approves expenditures.
- Monitors program and financial reports; develops and submits necessary budgetary information; administers program budgets.
- Provides consultation regarding budget, personnel, and administrative matters to supervisors; assists in problem resolution regarding budget and staffing resources.
- Provides for the tracking and coordination of workload measures, FTEs, and budget allocation.
- Prepare detailed financial and statistical reports, long-range planning documents, and other reports or documents as needed.
- Devise and implement system for general accounting.
- Grant/Contract management: Administers receipt of federal, state, and local funds; prepares fiscal budget reports for the agency; reviews and provides information to Division staff regarding contracts, grants and agreements; processes federal, state, and local contracts through the appropriate systems; identifies areas for potential cost savings and revenue generation; participates in grant application development and submission process; and monitors fiscal expenditure of grants awarded to the agency.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected financial position.
- Reconciles balance sheets, revenue/expense reports for various grants.

Required Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting or Business Administration with emphasis in accounting.
Experience Qualifications
- 5 years Job-related administrative duties.
Skills and Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of budgeting and fundamental accounting practices and methods including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger accounts
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; and the ability to count, sort, and categorize inventory items.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to operate telephones, computer terminal, keyboard, photocopier, and printer/scanning instrumentation.

- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid state-issued driver’s license Required

2. Tattoos, scarifications, and brandings on the face, or front of the neck, are not authorized.
Piercings:
1. Modest piercing are allowed.
2. Nostril is okay; septum, bridge, nasal Lang & rhino piercings are not allowed.
3. No more than one piercing is allowed to be displayed.

- Modest hand tattoos are allowed, at the discretion of the Sheriff or designee.
- Modest neck tattoos not extending onto the front of the neck, beyond the carotid arteries, are allowed at the discretion of the Sheriff or designee.
Piercings:

2. Nostril is okay; septum, bridge, nasal Lang & rhino piercings are not allowed.
3. No more than one piercing is allowed to be displayed.
- Unusually large or obtrusive piercings are not allowed.
- Ring thickness of 18 gauge (1mm) or smaller and a ring diameter of 10mm or smaller is allowed.
- A stud size of 2mm or smaller is allowed.
- Sworn personnel, only females are allowed to wear one pair of post style earrings, one in each lobe, while on duty.
This position is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore ineligible for overtime pay.
