Weld County Department of Human Services (WCDHS) Family Time services are designed to actively monitor, assess, and assist in the overall adult/child interactions between parent/relative/caregiver and child(ren) with the intent to improve the quality of the relationships, bonds, and attachments to assist in achieving permanency for children and families. The Family Time Worker II provide services that include clinical observation and assessment of parent/child interactions with the Family Time Worker II intervening to provide feedback and coaching and assist in ensuring child safety.
Responsibilities
Family Time Coaching, Intervention, and Skills Training (70%):
- Provides intensive in the room supervision and hands on skills training intervention for in office and in-home family time between parents, other relatives, and children. This could include coaching, and modeling designed to increase a caregiver’s ability to read the child’s cues and appropriately meet their needs.
- Provides in-the-moment interventions that uphold the child’s physical and emotional safety as well as the Family Time Center policies and guidelines.
- Provides parent education either formally through structured curriculum, or informally through interventions and modeling, for each case.
Collaboration (25%):
- Assists the Family Time Center Team in the development, modification or enhancement of parenting programs and activities to support healthy family relationships, life skills development and kinship provider support.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%):
- Follow policies and procedures, the Weld County Code of Conduct and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and appropriate release of information outlined in both.

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from a higher education institution with course work related to the job responsibilities of child welfare social caseworker. Course work examples can include and are not limited to, the development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques.
- One (1) year Child Welfare experience in another Child Welfare Agency and successful completion of six (6) months as a Journey Level Weld County Child Welfare Caseworker as documented in the annual performance evaluation which shows a Meets Standards or higher on core competencies and responsibilities or two (2) years professional experience working directly with children and families who have experienced trauma.
Salary : $36 - $46
