Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and Training
Students will need to be enrolled in Prostart I or Prostart II courses. Students will be eligible for payment after they have met the required hours for successful completion of coursework. Preference will be given to those students enrolled in Work-based Learning: Family and Consumer Science in the 2024-2025 school year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning
- Work collaboratively with a team to handle all food preparation and cooking at school sponsored events and activities
- In conjunction with the catering team, support inventory management of all materials and food in the RHS Branding Iron
- Support setup, breakdown and cleanup at all catering events
- Overseeing the service of food and beverages to guests during events. This includes ensuring that food is served at the appropriate temperature, maintaining presentation standards, and replenishing dishes as needed.
- Currently enrolled in a high school program, preferably with a focus on food service or related fields.
- Posses a foundation in cooking techniques and food preparation, including food safety practices.
- Student caterers have the ability to juggle multiple events simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to plan ahead, prioritizing tasks, and meet deadlines
- Effective communication is key
- Student caterers should be friendly, professional, and attentive to client needs, ensuring a positive experience for all guests
- From menu planning to food presentation, meticulous attention to detail is crucial.
- Catering often involves working as part of a team, whether in the kitchen or at events
- Student caterers should be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, supporting each other to deliver outstanding results
