What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Controller - Science Distribution Warehouse, District (2025-2026 School Year) position at Weld County School District?
- One year of college-level courses pertaining to warehousing inventory control, office and technical skills, or any other combination of related education or experience.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license.
- Minimum of one year of purchasing-related and stock control experience.
- Maintains a computerized inventory of health and science materials and supplies, such as CPR equipment, Starlabs, science kits, and critter crates.
- Obtains verbal, faxed, or written quotes for competitive prices for the Science Distribution and Purchasing Department.
- Responsible for problem-solving and assisting vendors, school, and accounts payable department with information relating to school district purchasing activities, i.e., expediting orders, returns, damages, shortages, price increases, and billings discrepancies. Follows through with the appropriate solution.
- Stores delivered merchandise and verifies invoices for accuracy of quantity shipped and priced.
- Prepares science kits for elementary schools to be distributed.
- Works with designated health and science coordinators in schools.
- Maintains equipment and makes necessary repairs on CPR equipment and Starlabs.
- Coordinates and assists with the delivery and pick up of science kits, CPR equipment, and Starlabs.
- Composes correspondence and performs word processing of letters, reports, forms, folders, flyers, memos, envelopes, and labels for the Science Distribution and Purchasing areas.
- Answers telephone and greets visitors.
- Copies documents.
- Processes mail for the Purchasing Department.
- Files for Purchasing Department.
- Assists in the Warehouse, Mailroom, and Printshop areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of Colorado and district content standards.
- Knowledge and skills sufficient to perform all duties of the position.
- Prefers leadership situations relating to meeting the social, emotional, psychological, and academic needs of students.

Computer proficiency, including typing skills and word processing knowledge. Ability to use good judgment in making decisions. Ability to communicate positively with the general public, co-workers, and district personnel throughout the workday. Ability to work independently with little guidance. Ability to perform all functions of the position.
