Dental Assistant

General Dental Assistant:

We are looking for a dental assistant to help our doctor in all clinical procedures and to make the patient as comfortable as possible as the treatment is taking place. A trained dental assistant with expanded duties is requested, but we hire based on a willingness to learn and growth with our team. With our small town office, teamwork is a must. We are a general and pediatric office that cares greatly for our patients. We do our best to provide a clean and fun office environment for our patients and staff. We do have high expectations for our staff, but we also provide every avenue of training for growth and learning. The open position is with the general dentistry side, but crossover will happen from time-to-time. Our office is fee for service practice which allows us to have a steady schedule, but one that doesn't become overwhelming. We have lots of new technology as well, from a scanner for crown and bridge to a CT for endo and implants.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Morning Duties Prior to Patient Arrival
• Room set up according to standardized protocol
• All trays set for the remainder of the day
• Double check all lab cases received
• Patient Arrival Duties
• Greet patient within 5 minutes of patient indicator turning color
• Seat patient in operatory
• Introduce patient to Dr
• Post Appointment Duties
• Set appointment complete and Walkout in Eaglesoft- confirm all procedures billed out properly
• Post Op instructions to patient if necessary
• Confirm patient has recare appointment
• Lab scripts are completed prior to dismissing patient Complete route slip for front office handoff
• No debris on patient’s face – let them go to the bathroom if needed.
• Take patient to front office and recap with:
• Today’s treatment
• Next visit
• Time needed for next visit
• When next visit should take place
• If patient (or family members) need recare appointments
• End of Day Duties

o All chart notes completed for patients seen
o All rooms set for next morning procedures
o All casts pulled from models
o All models poured and completed
o All lab cases sent out
o Computers turned off
o All lines run
o Assigned rooms stocked

Monthly

• Replace traps
• Spores testing
• Clean sterilizer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
