What are the responsibilities and job description for the Café Manager position at Well-Bred Bakery and Cafe?
The Well-Bred Cafe Manager is a working counter service manager responsible for guiding their team through the day to day operations as well as attend to all HR responsibilities and schedule writing. The perfect fit would be someone with high energy, a great personality and an attention for detail. This role works closely with the FOH Manager, General Manager and Bakery production team. 50% Counter Service. 50% Administrative.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead all systems and operations of daily service; delegate and participate in all aspects.
- Work beside the team as a fellow Counter Server while also managing administrative tasks.
- Drive a high energy, positive and respectful environmentand motivate a strong team morale.
- Manage two Assistant Managers
- Provide ongoing communication regarding new products initiatives, operational changes, news & events.
- Provide ongoing development for Assistant manager and servers with ongoing, consistent feedback.
- Provide, model, and coach exceptional customer service.
- Supervise team members and address any process or behavioral issues.
- Be an active counter server and participate in all daily duties, including an opening and closing shift.
- Create and ensure quality, freshness, abundance and consistency of all foods.
- Survey supply and maintenance needs and communicate with Managers and food production team.
- Maintain a clean serving line and cases by assigning tasks between customers and ensuring the line is in a consistently high state of cleanliness and functionality. Lead/monitor proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Monitor cash drawers and cash balance of petty cash in safe as well as cash change levels to ensure there is proper change on hand for customer transactions.
- Handle training, ongoing coaching, new hire and annual reviews.
- Assists with attending to and/or reporting any maintenance issues immediately.
- Attends Management Team meetings as needed and brings concerns, ideas and needs to the table in a proactive and productive manner.
- Holds team members accountable to the appropriate checklists and checks out employees who are clocking out during their management shift to ensure that they have completed their duties effectively.
- Maintains ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, and cleanliness of café and bathrooms.
- Monitors and communicates with FOH Operations Manager, General Manager and/or Kitchen Managers regarding food/product quality.
