In Home Caregiver

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare, particularly in areas such as geriatrics, hospital medicine, and inpatient care. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of clients, promoting independence while delivering high-quality care.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
• Monitor client health by taking vital signs and reporting any changes to family members or healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises as directed by healthcare providers.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members regarding client status.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related healthcare field is preferred, especially in geriatrics or hospital settings such as medical-surgical units or Level II Trauma Centers.
• Knowledge of outpatient and inpatient care practices is an asset.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to teach and guide clients through daily tasks.
• Ability to work independently while following care plans set by healthcare professionals.
• Must be patient, empathetic, and possess a genuine desire to help others.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided.
