Wells Enterprises currently has an opening for a Senior Business Development Manager, primarily calling on UNFI. The Senior Business Development Manager leads the development of business solutions with the UNFI account from the headquarter level. The main goal is to generate more revenue for the company while also achieving profit and trade spend objectives. You will also manage up to two Business Development Managers who will have additional accounts outside of UNFI that you will help grow and develop on the Team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and execute strategy for our branded business at UNFI to maximize resources and results
- Leverage deep understanding of Kroger systems and capabilities to unlock growth opportunities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop ideas, apply insights and deliver solutions
- Lead business development processes such as Corp Business Agreements, Promo Planning, and New Item Launches
- Effectively execute the Wells sales process including establishing objectives, developing strong selling stories, and anticipating challenges
- Lead business management process, including: Volume Forecast Management, P&L/ Trade Management, and Accounts Payable Management
- Support annual joint business planning for all UNFI (Conventional Grocery)
- Lead monthly business reviews with UNFI, Indirect such as Cub Foods, Festival Foods-WI, Dierbergs, Niemanns, Sedano’s, Bravo.
- Manage 2-3 Additional Business Development Managers on Wells Sales Team overseeing additional accounts in the market place such as: URM, Target, Amazon Fresh, Redners, American Food Basket, Key Food, Raleys, and Ad Maxx.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Minimum of 6 years Account Selling experience with a CPG company required.
- UNFI headquarter calling experience required
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
- Eager to expand the company with new sales by gaining new distribution in both region chains and independent customers
- Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Experienced at preparing and presenting quarterly goals and forecasts for future projects
- Demonstrated and proven sales results
- Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)
