Leveraging exclusive training provided through partnerships with the American Kennel Club, Andis, Fear Free, and our advisors such as Dr. David Haworth, our groomers are equipped with a deep understanding of various breeds and grooming techniques. Each groomer contributes to ensuring top-notch service through gentle methods tailored to dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Collaboration with the wellness center owner is key, as groomers work closely to address specific client preferences and conduct thorough wellness checks. Your dedication to professionalism, attention to detail, and love for animals will make you an indispensable asset to the Well Groomed Pets wellness and grooming center, ensuring that every furry customer leaves our care looking and feeling their absolute best.

Duties

As a groomer, your main duties will be to provide grooming services. The following is a detailed list of duties:

• Provide grooming services: You will be responsible for providing grooming services such as trimming and styling of the pet's coat. When applicable and in some specific circumstances groomers will support bathing and drying according to availability and occupancy, but the last ones are bather responsibilities. This includes brushing, combing, and detangling the pet's fur, as well as trimming their nails and cleaning their ears.
• Assess pet health: You will be responsible for assessing the pet's overall health and identifying any signs of illness or injury. This includes checking for skin conditions, fleas, ticks, or any other potential health issues, registered in WGP tech.
• Provide customer service: You will receive directly from the pet parent the instructions in the first appointment or when a recurrent pet parent asks for something specific, in the regular greets wellness tech will do it.
• Maintain grooming equipment: You will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning grooming equipment such as clippers, scissors, brushes, and combs to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Keep the work area clean and organized: You will be responsible for keeping your work area clean and organized. This includes cleaning (disinfection) after each grooming session and ensuring that all grooming tools and equipment are stored appropriately.
• Follow safety protocols: You will be responsible for following safety protocols to ensure the safety of both the pets and yourself. This includes using safety equipment such as gloves and masks, and ensuring that the pets are secured during the grooming process.
• Document pet grooming records: You will be responsible for documenting every pet grooming record such as the date of the groom, the services provided, and any health issues observed during the grooming process on WGP tech through the tablets available in each working station.
• Follow the process in the tech to inform the pet parent via automatic text and pictures of the process of the session and the 20 minutes pick up notice.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends: You will be responsible for staying up-to-date with industry trends and attending training sessions when offered to learn new techniques and grooming trends.

Overall, a groomer's primary duties involve providing grooming services for pets, assessing pet health, maintaining equipment, keeping work areas clean and organized, following safety protocols, documenting pet grooming records, and staying up-to-date with industry trends

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming is required.
• Strong skills in dog handling and animal care, with an understanding of various breeds' specific needs.
• Experience in veterinary technician roles or knowledge of animal restraint techniques is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when handling larger animals.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential.
• Creative coloring experience is a plus.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
