Adaptive Culinary Life Skills Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering adaptive cooking classes to neurodiverse individuals
• Adapting recipes and teaching techniques to accommodate different dietary needs and learning styles
• Assessing the needs of each individual and providing guidance and support as needed
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for all participants
• Creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants

Qualifications:

• Experience in teaching and/or working with individuals with diverse abilities
• Strong knowledge of various dietary needs and restrictions, and ability to adapt recipes accordingly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching culinary arts and life skills through cooking.

Education:

• Culinary education and/or professional culinary experience preferred or at least 3 years of experince in the culinary field. This experience does not have to be in a professional setting. The candidate should possess an understanding of basic and intermediate cooking techniques and feel comfortable teaching in a variety of private home kitchens
• Special education or related field training is a plus
