Position Summary:
Since 1961, the Wellborn family has owned and operated Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. The goal is to provide kitchen and bath cabinets crafted by dedicated Wellborn employees with the utmost quality and care. Today, over 55 years later, the product line has broadened to include cabinetry and storage solutions to help maximize the total home living space. This role will employ care and organizational skill to continue to make Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. the most valued provider of permanent home cabinets designed for a lifetime of gracious living.
The incumbent in this position supports the activities and responsibilities of the Finishing Department
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production lead person or Supervisor of a problem or issue.
- Responsible for learning spray gun set-ups, and any other adjustments and operating requirements in addition to cleaning protocol.
- Ensures correct fluid and air set up is complete for the spray gun and spray booth
- Responsible for completing Daily Spray Booth Checkoff sheet, which includes keeping spray booth filters changed and cleanliness of spray booth.
- Utilizes knowledge of pressure gauges to make decisions.
Endgrain Sprayer: (like an entry level sprayer)
- Ability to lightly coat outside edges and sides of raised panel doors.
- Required to change spray booth filters.
- Responsible for flushing and cleaning pressure pot (training by Supervisor or Lead)
Sealer Sprayer:
- Will be required to learn how to correctly apply material according to the Sprayers handbook.
- Knowledge of parts specifications and characteristics (type of finish, type of part, and type of wood)
- Must have a working knowledge of spraying all parts of the product in addition to knowing which side you should be spraying on
To advance to Pre-Stain or Top-coat / Shade sprayer position, must have 1 years experience or equivalent training skills.
Pre-Stain/Stain Sprayer:
- Basic knowledge required for spraying techniques for doors, frames, panels, according to quality standards
- Ability to adjust fluid and fan pattern on spray gun properly.
- Must be able to use color coded chart provided to match colors correctly.
- Required knowledge of how to properly attach quick connections on paint guns.
- Responsible for check off sheet, color codes, and the upkeep of at least 2 or more spray guns.
- Required to maintain cleanliness of the spray booth.
Topcoat / Shade Sprayer:
- Required to learn proper techniques for applying topcoat over other intermediate coats of paint and primer.
To advance to Accessory sprayer, must have 1 years of sprayer experience mastering all jobs listed above.
Accessory Sprayer:
- Ability to spray different shapes and types of parts (wood hoods, legs, curved parts, pilasters, etc.)
Tools, Machinery and Equipment:
- Safety glasses and earplugs
- Brush (for cleaning spray gun)
- Wrench (to disassemble and assemble spray gun)
- Wet film gauge (measures thickness of applied wet coat of finish)
- Pressure gauge (determines amount of fluid or air pressure is being used)

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or 1yr of equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management.
