Job Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs teaching duties and plans daily activities for children to include all areas of curriculum
- Assures that children are always supervised
- Prepares lesson plans for director
- Assure them that the children’s equipment and supplies are arranged properly and orderly and are kept in good condition.
- Communicates with Director and Assistant Director concerning all aspects of their classroom
- Keeps good development records of children in the classroom
- Must be able to communicate with parents concerning the development of their child and any other concern
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 2 years’ experience in a licensed daycare
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Must have strong planning skills
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to work effectively and appropriately with children
- Must maintain confidentiality of records
Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timely completion of tasks
- High School diploma or GED
- Must meet all requirements of the Department of Human Resources in areas of training
- Must have at least 12 clock hours of training in childcare and development through participation in workshops, meetings, videotapes, or one on one consultation.
