Parent Aide Wellcome Manor Family Services – Garden City, MN
Wellcome Manor Family Services is an inpatient treatment exclusively for women, and our clients are able to have their children reside with them while they begin their journey toward recovery.
Hours:
1:30pm-930pm Monday through Friday
11:00am-8:00pm Saturdays
11:00am-8:00pm Sundays
This position works every other weekend.
As a Parent Aide, your role is to give moms in recovery the support and encouragement they need so they can strengthen their relationships with their children. In order to do this, you will:
· Advise, assist, and educate mothers on positive parenting techniques. Motivate and praise mothers in the development and improvement of their parenting skills.
· Assist the Parent Educator in preparing for and facilitating Mother-Child Interaction groups as scheduled.
· Observe clients with their children and report back to the Parent Educator if you have concerns or suggestions.
· Assist clients during meal times.
· Provide and follow up on parenting tools such as potty training charts and reward systems under direction of the Parent Educator.
· Objectively document significant events you observe, both positive and negative.
· Ensure that clients are meeting the expectations outlined in the Code of Conduct in the client handbook.

Required Experience:
· Must be free of chemical use problems for one year

· Able to handle sensitive situations in a calm, professional manner.
· Able to pass a MN DHS Background Study.
· Be able to develop a non-judgmental, respectful trusting relationship with clients and children
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
