Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with a deep understanding of GAAP principles. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting with a focus on revenue recognition.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee cash management processes to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for management review.
• Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Develop, implement and document accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining vendor and client contracts
• Assist with and/or handles ad hoc reporting and miscellaneous accounting related projects
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

• 10 years of progressive accounting experience including 5 years in a leadership role
• Extensive knowledge of accounting controls and financial reporting, SaaS experience preferred
• Experience reviewing legal and vendor contracts
• Experience with transfer pricing and foreign entity consolidation
• Expert level MS Excel skills
• Previous experience and proficiency with Netsuite preferred
• Willingness to work in a dynamic start-up atmosphere
• Demonstrated ability for critical thinking
• Ability to take ownership of the financial accounting function with minimal daily direction from manager.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaborate with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, including ability to prepare presentations to senior executives and Board members
• Ability to handle the most sensitive and confidential information properly, identify and address potential issues of compliance and ethics, and direct/advise others with tact and proper discretion

WellDoc operates in ISO 13485 and MDSAP regulated and HITRUST compliant environments. Therefore, it is expected that all employees will have either prior experience working in those environments or, will be trained to understand the requirements needed to work and support those requirements and culture as they relate to individual roles and responsibilities.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business with an accounting emphasis
• CPA preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Welldoc offers a competitive compensation package which, in addition to salary, includes generous PTO, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision care, life and disability insurance, retirement benefits.and the opportunity to participate in health savings accounts and/or dependent care accounts. The anticipated salary range for this position is between 120-160K/year with the expectation that most candidates will fall around the midpoint of the range, exceptional candidates may exceed the range.

Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, you may be required to complete and clear a multi-panel drug screening process.
