Reports to: Restaurant Manager
Job Description:
The primary function of a Lead Server is to adhere to hotel specifications and standards providing the highest quality and timely service to guests who are dining on the property. The Lead Server is the model server for the Courtside outlets and serves as the department server trainer on site.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Suggest wine with dinner, take orders, relay orders to kitchen and serve courses
2. Inform diner patrons of the daily specials
3. Answer all menu items inquiries
4. Observe diner to respond to guests' dining needs
5. Clear and reset tables
6. Assure quality control before the guest receives their order
7. Knowledgeable of each menu item
8. Greet table within 1 minute of their arrival, preferably by their name
9. Guide guests through menu and wine list
10. Constantly maintain tables by removing any and all unnecessary or used service ware
11. Give guests everything they desire within the framework of our establishment
12. Memorize all wines by the glass, beers, liquor, specialty drinks and basic food preparation techniques
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age
2. Must be able to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
3. Ability to read, write and speak English
4. Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to "multi-task"
5. Ability to work independently
6. Must possess excellent people and communication skills
7. Must meet and exceed customer expectations
8. Must be knowledgeable of alcohol consumption laws in the state of TN
9. Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers and guests regarding assignment of duties and safety concerns
10. Posses a positive service oriented attitude toward our guests, our employees and the hotel
11. Promote health and safety guidelines and awareness.
12. Ensure all recycling guidelines are adhered to
Job Requirements:
*Able to stand of long hours.
*Able to work under pressure.
*At least 1-Year experience in a fast-paced or fine dining restaurant preferred
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Able to work without any supervision.
*Detail and deadline oriented.
*Must be willing to work a variety of day/night, holidays and weekend shifts.
