What are the responsibilities and job description for the RESTAURANT HOSTESS AM/PM position at WELLENGOOD PARTNERS?
Position: Host/Hostess
Reports to: Restaurant Manager
1. Responsible for greeting and seating guests. Coordinates seating to balance workload among Servers. Monitors service to ensure guest satisfaction. Oversees dining room cleanliness and maintenance.
2. Supervises restaurant activities in absence of Manager
3. Controls Reservation Book, accepts reservations and enters them accurately into the record
4. Maintains guest history files and uses information to enhance repeat guests experience
5. Assigns work stations and pre-meal side work, inspects dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks prior to start of meal period
6. Maintains guest records to; record arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, availability
7. Inspects menus to ensure cleanliness and acceptability
8. Greets guests in a polite professional manner
9. Determines guest needs, verifies table availability, assigns appropriate table for seating
10.Guides guest to appropriate table
11. Assists guest with seating, and presents menu
12. Ensures removal of unnecessary place settings at occupied tables
13. Notifies server of guest seating, and communicates any special needs or requests
14. Inspects dining room appearance constantly, assigns correction of deficiencies to appropriate employee
15. Monitors dining room activity, assists Servers and Assistants as needed to ensure performance to standard
16. Assigns post meal side work, inspects dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks

Required Skills and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Two years experience as Host/Supervisor in high volume upscale Hotel or free standing Restaurant
Thorough knowledge of restaurant terminology and food service techniques and sanitation standards
Exceptional guest service skills
Excellent management, leadership, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible schedule to include an,pm, weekends and holidays
Ability to stand for duration of full shift - 6-8 hours minimum
