The Department of Education at Wellesley College invites applications for a visiting lecturer for the 2025-26 academic year. This is a benefits-eligible position, teaching three courses, for an appointment that is 60% of full time. The ideal candidate will have completed the PhD or EdD by July 1, 2025 and have successful experience teaching in education and related fields. This position is in a collective bargaining unit represented by Wellesley Organized Academic Workers - UAW (WOAW-UAW).
We are seeking a scholar in education whose research and teaching are rooted in the transformation of K-12 schools, the development of policies and practices that are rooted in equity-based frameworks, and the investigation of context and community in the study of education. We are looking for a candidate who can teach an introductory education foundations course, an introductory course on K-12 school transformation and educational inequality, as well as an intermediate-level education policy course. Depending on the candidate’s area of expertise and teaching experience, we may choose to replace one of the aforementioned teaching units with a course in the candidate’s area of specialization.
