The Role

The ideal candidate is an individual contributor, global finance and accounting analysis leader, responsible for building, leading and delivering all finance and accounting policies, procedures, operations and reporting across the Company. The Director must be a self starter with strong understanding of all aspects of Finance and Accounting strategy, tactics, systems and reporting with a passion for implementing those programs.


This role is a new role for the Company, and as such, we are looking for a Finance and Accounting analytical professional who will roll up their sleeves as an individual contributor leading from the front by working with our existing Finance and Accounting professional teams. The role will partner directly with the CEO, CFO and the Global Controller to build a world class financial operations organization. It is expected that the Director will be in the Chelmsford MA offices a minimum of 4 days per week with flexibility to manage both an aggressive professional set of responsibilities and a vibrant personal life.


The Director will make annual trips to our regional offices and our global events working directly with the local teams building lasting relationships.


The Director reports directly to the Chairman & CEO.


Specific Responsibilities include:


Finance Processes, Systems, Analysis and Reporting Management


  • Lead the analysis and reporting for all monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance.
  • Produce for the Executive Leadership team and the Board of Directors quarterly financial reporting and analysis.
  • Present to the Board of Directors at each quarterly meeting.
  • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to build, forecast, manage and report on all financial and accounting budgets and performance.
  • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to identify areas in the company to reduce expense and increase EBITDA.
  • Lead the management, forecasting and reporting on TTM EBITDA performance.
  • Lead the Finance team and communicate the team’s priorities and achievements across the company.
  • Manage monthly bookings and revenue performance and reporting across all client and member companies.
  • Manage all monthly bookings and revenue performance and reporting across all products and services.
  • Establish all annual and monthly financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes working with each unit manager to assure that they own their performance.
  • Partner with the CTO to budget, manage, forecast and report on all CAPEX expenditures.
  • Analyzing financial risks and benefits across all business investments.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, deferred revenue management, expenses, CAPEX, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Work with the CEO’s of SAPInsider, Mastering SAP, ERP Today and Channel Metrics and their teams to deliver real time financial management and analysis programs and reporting.
  • Oversee and manage the company's finance system migration to Xero as the system of record globally.


Accounting Processes, Systems & Operations Analysis


  • Partner with the Global Controller to assure that all day to day accounting operations are completed timely and compliant with all GAAP and global compliance requirements.
  • Develop for the CEO and Board of Directors all governance and compliance reporting and analysis for current accounting practices and operations.
  • Partner with the Global Controller to assure fully accurate and compliant accounting records.
  • Partner with the Global Controller to complete annual audits to ensure accuracy and reporting to all internal stakeholders and shareholders.
  • Partner with the Global Controller to manage all global tax expenses and risk exposures including income taxes, labor taxes and VAT across all governmental jurisdictions.
  • Provide analysis on the day to day Accounting processes and operations including data entry, account reconciliation, AR, AP, GL, Revenue Accounting, Cash Management and Expense Management.
  • Work with the Global Controller to direct the day to day execution and operations of the monthly closing of the financial systems, ensuring that all activities are executed promptly and by accounting policies, procedures and expectations.
  • Assist CFO in strategic and financial planning design and analysis.
  • Work with the Global Controller to develop and maintain all accounting policies and procedures,
  • Manage the Xero accounting systems day to day analytics and reporting.


An ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5 years of progressive financial and accounting analysis leadership experience.
  • Progressively responsible financial leadership roles covering all aspects of finance and accounting disciplines.
  • Strong experience in developing financial and accounting analysis and reporting to drive performance improvements and operational excellence.
  • Proven experience in media, business services marketing services, tech-enabled services companies.
  • Direct experience in an ARR based content, membership, digital and/or events business.
  • Experience in managing cash and currency risk across a global company.
  • Experience with leading a global audit process and risk analysis.
  • Experience with service provider contract negotiations and management including hotel event services, technology services and data services.
  • Direct experience in managing financial systems implementation, integration and reporting with strong priority to managing Xero and Salesforce.com platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
