What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-5 ELL Summer 2025 Program Administrator position at Wellesley School District?
Description: In an effort to support K-5 EL students in maintaining and growing their language development, Wellesley Public Schools (WPS) will offer an in-person summer learning program. The goal is to sustain students’ language learning and mitigate potential summer learning loss.
This is a WPS summer program for currently enrolled K-5 EL students. The EL Administrator will be responsible for supporting the EL Summer Program Teachers in accessing and using the Reach curriculum, which will be provided; assisting with implementation of the program; and overseeing and supporting the program while in progress.
The position reports to the Director of Multilingual and Director of DEI.
- 6 hours of preparation prior to summer school starting.
- EL Summer Program runs from July 7 - 24, 2025, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.
- 2 hours of preparation weekly during the summer program.
Job Requirements:
- Collaborate with the Director of Multilingual Education, PK-5 Department Heads in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies and EL Summer Program Administrator to discuss criteria for student summer learning selections and review the Reach curriculum for the summer program.
- Oversee hiring of EL teachers in conjunction with the Director of Multilingual Learners and PK-5 Department Heads.
- Connect and collaborate with Technology for planning, programming, and support, if technology is needed.
- Develop, implement, and monitor systems for tracking student attendance in collaboration with staff.
- Communicate with families of EL students to invite and enroll students in the summer program and keep them informed weekly.
- Provide updates to the Director of Multilingual Learners, Director of DEI, and Building Principals.
- Provide support to staff, families, and students where and when needed.
- Upon the completion of the EL Summer Learning Program: provide attendance data to the Director of Multilingual Learners and Director of DEI, engage in a concluding meeting with the Director of Multilingual Learners to summarize the program efforts and effectiveness, and return all Reach curriculum materials.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Multilingual Learners and Director of DEI.
Reports to: Director of Multilingual Learners and Director of DEI
Compensation:
- Unit A: Compensation will be provided at the staff member’s hourly rate, but not to exceed Master’s 8 ($71.07/hour). Any preparation time incurred prior to July 1 will be compensated at the applicable FY25 rate, not exceeding Master’s 8 ($68.99/hour).
- Unit C: Compensation will be provided at the FY’25 Wage Scale.
